Leading Engineering Technician Daniel Harrison of the Royal Navy has tragically passed away, leaving a profound impact on those who knew him.

He was aboard HMS Kent when he died on July 10, 2021.

The Type 23 frigate was on its way to the Far East as part of a deployment with the Carrier Strike Group, which included the Royal Navy flagship, HMS Queen Elizabeth.

The news of his passing cast a dark shadow over the ship, deeply affecting his shipmates and the entire Navy community.

Daniel joined the Royal Navy in 2016, bringing a strong work ethic and a passion for service. Before his naval career, he worked at Washington Metalworks, honing his technical skills.

Throughout his service, he sailed on various vessels, including HMS Somerset, HMS Collingwood, and HMS Montrose.

His deployments took him across countries like Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark, where he formed lasting friendships and gained valuable experiences.

Adventurous Spirit

Daniel was known for his adventurous nature. He embraced challenges, whether it was rock climbing, mountaineering, or skiing.

He often spent time at the gym, pushing his limits and inspiring others to do the same. His love for DIY projects, gardening, and home renovation reflected his creative and hands-on approach to life.

His dedication extended beyond personal interests. In May 2019, Daniel received the HMS Collingwood Award at the Mayor of Fareham’s awards ceremony, recognizing his outstanding volunteer work at Tudor Lodge care home. He made a significant impact on the residents through his kindness and commitment, showcasing his genuine desire to help others.
