Haley Taylor, Daughter, and Alyia Khalid Tragically Die in Richardson Crash

A devastating Halloween night crash on Richardson’s North Central Expressway claimed the lives of Haley Taylor, her 6-year-old daughter, and 19-year-old Alyia Khalid. The tragic incident unfolded in the 3400 block of U.S. 75, near the President George Bush Turnpike. Early morning commuters faced road closures on the southbound lanes as authorities investigated the scene.

Accident Details

Shortly before midnight, Richardson police were alerted to a Cadillac SUV stalled in the southbound HOV lane of U.S. 75. Before officers could arrive, a Lexus SUV collided with the back of the Cadillac, setting off a tragic chain reaction. A Dodge sedan then struck the rear of the Lexus, pushing it into a Nissan sedan, which was subsequently hit by an 18-wheeler.

Seven people were reportedly standing outside the Cadillac when it was struck by the Lexus. Sadly, Alyia Khalid, 19, who was a passenger in the Cadillac, died instantly. Haley Taylor, 27, and her 6-year-old daughter, who were in the Lexus, were rushed to the hospital but later pronounced dead.

Injuries and Ongoing Investigation

Four other passengers from the Cadillac sustained injuries but are expected to survive. Debris from the crash damaged two additional vehicles, though their occupants were unharmed. Authorities reopened the freeway around 8:40 a.m. as the investigation continues into the cause of this tragic accident.
